Although
we do not grow grapes here, we do grow, pick and process some of the best
berries in the world. Along with our signature (and very popular!) Blue
Zin wine we make Raspberry, Blueberry Wine, Fireweed Honey Wine (wow!),
an amazing Strawberry Wine and lots and lots of Rhubarb wine. These wines
are all made from locally-grown ingredients.

In
a wine market largely obsessed with single-varietal wines, Yalumba has
remained steadfast in its commitment to that most Australian of wine styles,
the Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz blend.

Mer
Soleil Chardonnay is made in a complex, barrel-fermented style reminiscent
of the white wines of Burgundy but with the generous, sun-ripened flavors
of California. Charlie Wagner II, Mer Soleils winemaker, attributes
the wines unique flavor profile both to the soils and climate of
the vineyards where the grapes are grown and to winemaking choices aimed
at enhancing the multiple aromas and flavors of the Chardonnay these vineyards
produce.

The winery is located in the Paso Robles appellation of Californias Central Coast. The regions first grapes were planted in 1779 by Franciscan missionaries and today are home to the third highest concentration of wineries in the United States. Their desire is to make world class wines that reflect the unique soils and climate of their California Central Coast property. Tin Roof wines originate in choice vineyards located in Californias acclaimed North Coast and Central Coast wine-growing regions. TURNAGAIN VINES was born after the 911 events transpired in New York City. You take stock of your life after you see a tragedy like that unfold. Our passion is wine and we wanted to share our passion with others. Our aim is to share the wines that we discovered and crafted with others who will hopefully find as much enjoyment in them as we do. In late 2001 we contacted Drew and Rae Noon (Noon Wines) in McLarenVale, South Australia and expressed our desire to become involved in the wine family. They put us in contact with there neighbor Leigh Gilligan (Gilligan and DowieDooleWines) and Andrew Buttery (GemtreeWines) . The business evolved through this connection and friendships we made that first trip to McLarenVale in February 2002. |

Over
30 years ago, Jack Cakebread came to photograph the Napa Valley for a
book and while here, he casually mentioned his interest in one day owning
a vineyard to some family friends who had a ranch in Rutherford. When
he returned home that afternoon, the phone rang and it was the family
friends offering to sell their property. He headed back up to the valley
that same afternoon to make his best offer, and Cakebread Cellars was
born.

The Galvanized Wine Group is a collective of people with passion and brands with presence; a grouping which brings together Australian wines crafted at McLaren Vintners by the talented winemaker, Ben Riggs, with owners, managers, staff and stakeholders in common. These include
wines under his own Mr Riggs label - "making the wines I love"
- from the Riggs family's "Piebald Gully Vineyard" and only
from other plots considered to be outstanding. |
